16. Karaoke - I know it sounds funny, but it's nice to have a place to go, where people clap for me, people think I'm good at what I do, and it requires no preparation... and it's FUN.
17. Toothpaste - Can you imagine what our mouths would taste and feel like without it??? Gross.
18. Volunteers - I try to do my part where I can. There are places I donate my money to, and earlier this year I did walk in the Heart Walk, but let's face it, i don't do nearly as much as so many other people do. So many people donate so much of their time to so many worthy causes, and I'm thankful that they do it.
19. Electricity - Having gone without it for 4 days last month, man, I really appreciate it even more.
20. Food - I'm not just thankful that I've never had to live without, I'm also thankful that so much of it tasts SO GOOD!
These are added to the 15 I had so far:
1. My house - it's really a dream for me and every day I pull into the driveway I'm thankful that not only am I financially able to own it, but that I was able to find such a perfect house for me so close to work.
2. My car - not only am I thankful for something that gets me where I need to go, it's a freakin' cool car. It's technologically awesome and helping save the world, right?
3. John - It's hard to put into words how awesome it is to come home from work and hear the *clomp*clomp*clomp* of feet running up the basement stairs, the door bursting open, the smile, the yell of "Iffles!" and the run to hug me. Best thing ever.
4. My job - ok, having a job can be quite a pain sometimes, but I'm thankful it's here, I'm glad I like the people I work with, and I'm happy that I get the respect that I do. I also enjoy my paycheck.
5. Music - could I make it through a day without listening to music? I don't think I want to know the answer to that.
6. My family - they're always there for me when I need them - with words, driving out when I was suddenly hospitalized, giving me money to help me out when I need it, etc.
7. Glasses/contacts - as strange as it sounds, I often think about how thankful I am for this technology. With a presecription as strong as mine, I'd sure be dead or rendered useless if I couldn't have some sort of corrective lenses.
8. Indoor plumbing - ok, that might be a gross one, but. Seriously. Can you imagine if we didn't have it? I'm quite thankful.
9. Myles and Maia - neither one are Kaylee, who I still think about often and miss quite a bit, and sure, Maia gets on my nerves a lot, but I can't imagine watching TV or reading a book without one of them curled up next to or on top of me.
10. The Basement - Not only am I thankful just to have one, I'm thankful that ours contains an entire warehouse of video game systems, parts and repair equipment. Plus one previously-mentioned man that knows how to use it all. I'm not a huge video game nerd, but it's certainly nice to know that most problems I have can be fixed by yelling "John? Help!" down the basement stairs.
11. My camera - I don't think I've ever had a hobby that was something that I really wanted to do. It's not that I haven't enjoyed things I've done in the past, it's just that I've never been "oooh, I really wanna do that." before. I'm learning on my own, and enjoying it on my own. It's fantastic.
12. My deck - I think I already mentioned my house, but my deck is just an extra bonus. A LARGE extra bonus. :)
13. AT&T U-Verse - It's so much better than Time Warner Cable - in both the number of options they provide for the price and in the availability.
14. RSS Feeds - How else would I keep up with news and entertainment? It's fantastic to get all the information I could need and want all in one place!
15. A college education - I certainly wouldn't be where I am now without my Bachelor's Degree. And while I don't necessarily need my Master's Degree, I'm still glad I actually have it.
